And so our Australian Adventures continues as we head towards Brisbane... Day 6 After leaving Melbourne we headed off on the M31 Hume Highway, heading towards Sydney.  Before leaving the Mornington Peninsula it had been suggested that since we were going to be in Australia for a while the we should apply for a medicare card  this is because the UK and Australia have a reciprocal agreement on medical care. This came in very handy when my poor husband had a little medical issue, we called into hospital in Seymour where he was seen, operated on and out within 30 mins and all free of charge! We stopped at a couple of places on route including one town where we were advised to turn our car around to face the way of the traffic otherwise it could be a $200 fine... we did so pretty quickly. Day 4 The weather was not on our side as we left the Twelve Apostles, in fact it more of less followed us all the way back to Melbourne and on to the Mornington Peninsula. The Mornington Peninsula has long been established as Melbourne's favourite playground located about an hours drive south east of Melbourne.   If there is something familiar about the Mornington Peninsula its because it has a bit of a Mediterranean feel about it especially with the olives groves and vineyards dotted around.  Its a great location to escape from the city and head for some truly idyllic beaches with some pretty familiar names! With historic fishing villages such as Hastings and laid back shoreline locations such as Sorrento it won’t be long before you’re affected by the charm of this little piece of land.
