The Waldorf Astoria Dubai - unpretentious elegance
The Australian Adventure had ended but we still had a few days to chill out and relax in Dubai. When you have been away for 7 weeks and you are flying home from Australia, the last thing you want to do is fly straight home, if you are going to have jet-lag, then why not relax in scrumptious surroundings and glorious sunshine and having worked there as a Holiday Representative a few years ago, Dubai was the perfect answer. The Wardorf Astoria is located on the iconic Palm Jumeriah island, which can be seen from space, and was the perfect spot for a relaxing stay. There is building work going on the Palm but to be honest that can be said for most of Dubai and will continue until 2020. On arrival we received a wonderful welcome from the concierge and whisked straight to the glass lift and up to the 5th floor where the Waldorf Astoria Lounge is located and it was here that we were checked in.
